Trips
Field trips:
- Field trip is one of the best tools that we can use to provide every student with real-world experiences.
- When students leave the classroom, they see the connections between what is happening at school and in the ‘real-world’.
- Students are able to access tools and environments that are not available at school.
- Students who go on field trips become more empathetic and tolerant.
- Field based learning is important because students are able to engage with content in a variety of ways.
When a field trip is planned?
- Parental permission including a signed release for each student will be sent home for approval.
- A Trip Leader is appointed responsible for the running and safety of the trip on the day (1:5 for Kg and lower elementary, 1:10 for upper elementary and middle school, 1:15 for high school)
- Trip attendance is registered as a regular school day.
- Trip Leader is responsible for student wellbeing and conduct including behavior on the buses and during the trip.
- One responsible adult is assigned to each bus to ensure safety and wellbeing of students.
- Student code of conduct is applied during the trip.
- School uniform is obligatory for attending the trip.
