Own Heliopolis is a private school governed by the school CEO and legal representative who is one of the owners of the school, in addition to an executive director; who also belongs to the family of owners.
The school CEO is responsible for implementing major policies concerning legal and financial issues with no interference in educational policies and practices. The executive director contributes to the implementation of the school legal and financial policies in addition to contributing in directing the educational policies and allocation of resources, not interfering with the day to day operating procedures and decisions.
The leadership staff includes a school principal from K-12 and K-5 vice principal who is also the activity coordinator, in addition to head of departments.
The leadership team responsibilities are assigned according to their roles, school principal is responsible for monitoring academic and non-academic procedures through setting performance objectives for students and teachers , teachers’ evaluation, overviewing administrative tasks, curriculum follow up, data assessment, developing and tracking benchmarks for measuring institutional success ,strategic planning, , professional development determination, staff appraisal, and providing an atmosphere free of any bias in which students can achieve their maximum potential.
The vice principal role is managing day to day school operations, students academic and behavior supervision, assisting in yearly teacher evaluations, assisting in providing guidance to staff and students, communicating with parents , fiscal resources availability and encouraging a positive climate in the school.As an activity coordinator, the responsibility starts from setting goals for activities till implementation with all the procedures included as setting dates to avoid conflicts, checking for the availability of financial resources, announcements made for parents and staff.
The head of departments’ responsibilities vary between curriculum development, preparing, monitoring and updating annual departmental plans, managing day to day requirements such as examination entry and departmental timetables, ensuring accurate, developing, motivating and appraising staff where relevant to ensure that they have clear expectations of their roles, using learning environment observation tool for evaluating teachers’ classes, analyzing students’ achievement , identifying training needs within the department, ensuring that they are appropriately met, and that all members of the department are active in their own professional development.
